As WSUiR continues to expand in its first year of existence, we are continually adding new content. A number of DJs have already begun creating test shows, which you can hear today. While these shows aren't necessarily updated weekly, they are a taste of what is to come. It is our goal to bring you excellent programming such as this from a variety of DJs on a weekly basis, so stay tuned for new content!

Shows
Elissa
Harbert Radio Hour
Elissa is a graduate student at WSU studying musicology and
Oboe. She enjoys a wide variety of Western art music from
baroque to classical to romantic to the 20th century
avant-garde. Her show will feature selections from an array
of composers and works that span the history of Western
music. In other words, it could be just about anything! As
a musicologist and historian, she has an encyclopedic
knowledge of Western art music, so she is sure to keep even
the most avid connoisseurs on their toes!
Liquid Sunshine Radio
Liquid Sunshine Radio is hosted by WSU grad student and
electronic composer, Steve Wilson, and his computer. Steve's
radio show breaks down into two types. Typically, Steve
plays a mix of contemporary electronic music
incorporating all styles from IDM to drum 'n bass to
microhouse to techno to trip hop to wildly experimental
sound art, and everything in between. These shows
typically have a theme related to the musical style
(e.g. a drum 'n bass show or a Warp Records show). Other
shows are devoted to Steve's original music released
under the name, Liquid Sunshine. Steve's original music
draws inspiration contemporary electronic artists such
as Aphex Twin and Autechre as well as more experimental
composers of the 20th century such as Xenakis, Cage, and
Stockhausen. The idea is fun electronic music with a
groove and some compositional integrity. Steve has a
huge record collection, so you might be surprised at
what pops up.
Primm and Proper
Andrea Primm (AKA DJ Primmitiv) is a Wichita based
turntablist and DJ. When she's not making dope beats, she's
probably rocking a party as the DJ or helping out on the
WSUiR committee. Andrea's shows bring you fresh,
underground music from across America. Much of her content
is from up-and-coming and/or local bands that don't even
have record deals (yet). There's no place you're going to
hear this stuff unless you see the band live and buy their
CD. DJ Primmitiv is your hookup for great, non-commercial
music.
